What is?
Dark eye circles refers to discoloration under the eyes that make us look constantly tired.
Causes
The delicate skin around eyes already thin, looses its firmness and thickness. The vessels and muscle under the skin becomes more visible and this causes shadows under eyes. Also, due to genetic factors, melanin pigmentation can cause dark discoloration in dark skinned patients. Besides regional and ethnic differences anemia, allergies, thyroid diseases, sinusitis, fatigue, heavy alcohol consumption, excessive sun exposure may also play a role.
