What is?

Rosacea is a common inflammatory skin disorder. It represents itself in the form of flushing, persistent erythema and/or inflammatory papules and pustules without blackheads. If even one of these findings is present the diagnosis of rosacea should also be bared in mind.

Causes

Rosacea is a chronic skin disease with genetic tendency. Its cause is unknown and there is no permanent cure. Effective control of the signs and symptoms can be achived with medical therapy, energy based devices and lifestyle changes. Gastrointestinal system disorders are more common in rosacea patients. Especially SIBO (small intestinal bacterial overgrowth) is an important disorder to look for in severe and persistent cases.
